Childhood is Precious

We are so excited to announce a special project to raise awareness for Mirabel children. Based around the theme that ‘Childhood is Precious’, the campaign focuses on Mirabel’s commitment to bringing joy to the lives of young people who’ve been orphaned or abandoned due to their parent's drug use.

We owe a huge thank you to the incredible team at Cocogun, UnLtd, Photoplay, Ryvalmedia, Sarah Adamson and Fred Again.., who have all generously donated their time to the project.

At the heart of this project is a beautiful 60-second film, directed by Sarah Adamson, that perfectly captures the curiosity, wonder and unbridled joy of being a child. The television commercial is supported by transit posters, also photographed by Sarah Adamson, as well as social content and radio ads.

Why Your Support Matters

Mirabel has over 26 years’ experience assisting disadvantaged children and families to reach their full potential. We help children to thrive by providing comprehensive, trauma-informed services that address the unique needs of the children and their kinship carers. Mirabel is currently supporting over 1,900 children and young people, the most profoundly overlooked casualties of substance abuse in our society.

Previous trauma and abuse can result in self-destructive behaviours, mental health difficulties and low self-esteem that can prevent children from reaching their full potential. As a result of their circumstances, these young people are unable to fully engage in the community or pursue opportunities essential for healthy development.

At Mirabel, we believe every young person deserves to experience a sense of belonging and hope for the future despite their difficult early years. We provide a wide range of programs – from educational tutoring, therapeutic groups and social inclusion activities for the children, to parenting assistance, support groups, legal advice and family camps for the carers. With your help we can ensure that our vital programs of support continue and no child or carer in need is ever turned away.

Your contribution will help make a difference
Community, corporate and philanthropic support are central to Mirabel’s ability to support disadvantaged children and carers. For 26 years, we have been true to our vow to never turn away a child in need. You can help us keep that promise.
