Mirabel Alumni Takes His Story to the Stage

Mirabel alumni Troy Rogers is sharing his journey on stages across Australia with his show "Upside Down Fantasyland" at the Sydney and Melbourne Fringe Festivals.

Praised as "brave and riveting," Troy vulnerably takes the stage to share his experiences of growing up with parents who were using drugs and life growing up with his grandmother. He delves into the complexities of his past with honesty and courage, while balancing the heavy material with humour and love.

His story mirrors the journeys of so many children in kinship care arrangements, showing that these experiences, while difficult, can become sources of strength, healing, and hope.

Troy's willingness to share his experiences so openly shows remarkable strength, transforming his journey into art that will resonate with many. "Upside Down Fantasyland" runs from 24-26 September in Sydney and 13-19 October 2025 in Melbourne.
